 Stage name King Sweetkid (born September 30, 1995) is an award-winning South African rapper, and songwriter from Ratanda, Heidelberg. His first breakthrough came with his 2016 mixtape, “Sugar Season”, which made him one of the most notable figures in the South African Hip Hop Industry.

Critics have characterised King Sweetkid’s craft as blending playful confidence with emotional sincerity in his music and lyrics, which often explore themes such as heartbreak, self-introspection, and self-motivation. He has described his music as emphasising rhythm and his lyricism as being “personal ” and geared toward “connecting with people.”

His music has been broadly categorised as hip hop and R&B. Publications have further tagged it as soulful. King’s latest offering is ” Nothing Is Perfect,” which booked him a spot as one of the most eligible rappers in South Africa. Delivering a cadence at smooth melodies, he spent half of his career deciding which persona to offer his listeners.
